Service Environmental Engineering, Inc., was in Imlay City conducting environmental testing on a recently purchased parcel of property.
The 9 acre site contined 5 currently empty buildings, including 2 former gas stations. The new owner called SEE to perform the preliminary testing before demolition and development could begin.
Soil borings were taken in 16 different locations and an analysis of the results will indicate if any gas or other volatiles are present. Leaks or contamination from past use may affect future plans for the site, and would indicate if further testing would be required. The sampling can also be used to determine the soil composition and stability for upcoming construction projects.
Monitoring wells were also set up on the property to detect any current or future contamination and insure adherence to environmental regulations.
